Continuing the 140th Anniversary Celebrations
As part of the firm’s continuing 140th anniversary celebrations, two partners, Peter Cunliffe and Fraser Young embarked on a 140 mile bike ride over 7th, 8th and 9th October. They set off from Morecambe on the Way of the Roses route and finished at Cracoe that night, some 47 miles later. Tents had been pitched by Emma Cunliffe, Business Development Manager and support crew for the ride. Saturday was a long 60 mile route over the highest point of 410 metres near Pateley Bridge to a site just south of York. Constant rain made them question whose idea this was. On Sunday morning they awoke to large puddles surrounding the tents but after a hearty fry up made their way from York to the Humber Bridge finishing about 5.30pm with celebratory ice creams. Total distance is believed to be nearer 155 miles. The staff were encouraged to guess the highest point and a small amount of money has been added to the amount raised by Craig and Clive’s walk and will be handed over to the 5 nominated charities soon.
