Stephen Topping attains Higher Rights of Audience for civil courts

Stephen Topping, Associate in the Litigation Department, has recently attained qualification as a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts Civil Proceedings). This followed a rigorous written and advocacy assessment and means that he has the same rights of audience as any barrister in all civil courts in England and Wales.

Stephen observed “Obtaining higher rights of audience will allow me to offer greater flexibility and value to clients. Additionally, continuity of service provision can be maintained in circumstances where the knowledge retained by Fieldings Porter of the ‘ins and outs’ of a case enables us to offer advocacy services to clients in a more efficient and cost effective way than may otherwise be the case where a barrister must be instructed. Of course, where it is in the best interests of a client  I shall continue to work closely with, and recommend the instruction of, Counsel so as to maximise the prospect of a successful outcome to proceedings.”
