Injuries During Birth

You could have a claim when you have suffered an injury during childbirth. This can include injuries suffered to you or your baby during childbirth.

When a baby suffers injury during childbirth or after being born that was caused by the lack of care of a medical professional, you could receive compensation as it often means the child will need assistance, additional care, equipment, changes to accommodation and you may be entitled to make a claim.

Types of birth injury claims can include –

  • Stillbirth
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Infant death
  • Lack of oxygen
  • Umbilical cord issues

These cases are often very complex in establishing breach of duty of care and the extent of the causal effects of the child's health. They can often take years before concluding. We have experience in dealing with such cases and assisting families in such distressing times. We build up a strong legal team including experienced barristers and case managers and therapists in providing the support and care and seeking interim payments wherever possible as the case progresses to help meet the needs of the injured child.

Should have such a case or know of a family member of friend who does then contact our Peter Cunliffe to discuss.
