A compensation settlement has been obtained for a 10-year-old boy who was injured in a road accident.
He was riding his e-scooter along the road when a car came round the corner at high speed and collided with him. He suffered a broken leg, which required surgery, and also experienced psychological trauma. The driver left the scene of the accident but a witness was able to provide his details.
After a claim was brought, the driver initially disputed liability because the scooter the boy had been riding was illegal. However, a settlement was reached on the basis that the driver was 75 per cent liable for the accident.
The boy's compensation was paid into court and will be available to him when he reaches the age of 18.
