Where/when you studied: University of Liverpool

Professional expertise before joining the firm: I began working for a multi-office criminal law firm in 2008 covering Berkshire and West London. I quickly achieved my accreditation as a police station representative and then went on to qualify as a solicitor in Crime and achieve my Magistrates Court Qualification. I qualified as a Duty Solicitor in 2011. I moved to a top 500 Law Firm and I developed my skills in the Magistrates Court and then completed the Higher Rights Qualification (Criminal) in order to represent clients in the Crown Court. Following nine years experience in Criminal law I then moved to the public sector and conducted childcare proceedings at the Civil Justice Centre in Manchester. I therefore have dual experience in Family and Criminal Law Proceedings.

When you joined the firm: October 2019

Department responsibilities (within the firm): Solicitor Advocate, representing private and publicly funded clients in the Magistrates Court, Crown Court and the Youth Court and attending police stations. Prosecution work on behalf of the Health & Safety Executive.

Areas of special legal expertise: Criminal Defence in the Magistrates Court & Crown Court, Childcare Proceedings.

In Criminal Law, I have covered a wide range of offences from shoplifting to attempted murder. I have particular expertise in assisting those accused of serious criminal offences including sexual offences. I also have valued experience in the field of dangerous dogs and opposing destruction orders.

I value working with clients and ensuring that they are given access to justice. I regularly represent clients who are vulnerable due to their age or their health condition and that require additional support. I am meticulous in my approach to preparation of trials and often make legal arguments before the Court to assist my clients’ cases. I offer clients considered and robust advice ensuring they are kept informed at each stage of the process.
