Where/when you studied: I am currently studying my LLB Law (Hons) degree at the University of Bolton from 2017 to 2020.
Professional expertise before joining the firm: Before joining the firm I was working seven days a week. I worked full time Monday – Friday as a receptionist at a solicitors practice and gradually i then assisted solicitors with new and existing enquiries. Additionally, I worked as a barmaid on Saturday and Sunday.
When you joined the firm: I joined the firm in October 2018 after being offered a position as a Paralegal within the Corporate and Commercial Department. Since starting my new position I have gained the knowledge and skills that are required in order to become a solicitor in due course.
Department responsibilities (within the firm): Assist the commercial department with commercial property transactions. My main duties are to draft legal documentation, liaise with clients, solicitors and third parties, and undertake post-completion duties such as submitting stamp duty land tax returns and to deal with the Land Registry. I also deal with a few Wills and Probate matters including notifying and corresponding with all relevant organisations in order to cash or transfer the deceased's assets and pay the debts and liabilities of the estate and assist in preparation of estate accounts.
