Randox Laboratories - Miscarriage of justice?

In 2017, Randox Testing Services, the company used by 42 police forces including Greater Manchester Police uncovered a scandal within their company involving the manipulation of its data.

The result of the manipulated data meant that a number of individuals arrested for road traffic offences were wrongfully convicted.

A criminal investigation is underway and a number of employees at Randox Testing Services have been interviewed by the police.  It appears from media publications that 3 employees remain under investigation for perverting the course of justice. 

In the meantime, the 10,500 samples which are thought could have been affected by the scandal are in the process of being re-assessed by a new expert.  At this time only 2700 of those samples have been re-reviewed. 

Here at Fieldings Porter, our Laura Leech and Heather Crossthwaite have successfully overturned a criminal conviction as a result of the scandal.  Our Emma Savage is now assisting in a civil claim for damages.
